Skills Academy Wales is a leading provider of Work-Based Learning in Wales.

A partnership of 14 providers, Skills Academy Wales offers high-quality learning and a flexible provision to match the individual skills needs of young people, the unemployed and existing employees. Building strong and effective partnerships with employers allows Skills Academy Wales to support the development of business solutions.

In response to a countrywide shortage of HGV Drivers the Owens Group took the strategic view to offer candidates the opportunity to train as HGV Drivers. At the end of September 2021, the Owens Group took on 9 HGV Apprentices.

The Company partnered with LRC to provide the required training so that our apprentices could obtain their Class 1 License.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with LRC who through their professionalism have made our experience of employing apprentices a rewarding experience.
